Poems Out Loud

Status:Active, open to new members
Convenor:
When: Monthly on Tuesday mornings 10:30-12:30
Second Tuesday of the month
Venue: Members Homes - Contact for Information

The group is hosted by Patrick Bond who has previously hosted a poetry group for many years as well as having studied poetry to a high academic level, and being a poet himself. He is keen to share his love of poetry and his belief that poems need to be read aloud in company to truly come alive and has much experience of reading to others.

Patrick hopes that members will be thrilled to be meeting and sharing the richness of words and insights, covering 400 years of poetry; funny, or deep, or startling, or sad, sharing poems which have stood the passing of time and are still as alive as ever.

Meetings take place at Patrick’s home on the second Tuesday morning of each month from 10.30 for two hours. Some meetings may have a theme, sometimes members may bring along a favourite poem to share – the group will develop as members get to know each other.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 14th July – if you are interested in joining the group, or just coming along to see if it’s for you, contact Patrick using the above link.
